ROI Calculator
Check whether money spent on stock, equipment or ads paid off. Enter what went in and what came back.
How it works
ROI = (amount returned − amount invested) ÷ amount invested × 100. Spending 5,000 on ads that bring in 8,000 of profit gives a gain of 3,000 and an ROI of 60%.
Questions
Should I use revenue or profit as the amount returned?
Profit gives the truer picture, because revenue ignores what the sales cost you.
Does ROI account for time?
No. A 60% ROI over one month and over five years look the same here, so compare the time as well.
What does a negative ROI mean?
You got back less than you put in.
Results are estimates for planning. They are not tax, legal or financial advice.
