Discount Calculator
Find the final price after a percentage discount and the amount saved. Use the second discount for offers such as 20% off plus another 10% off.
How it works
Final price = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). Two discounts apply one after the other, so 20% then 10% off 1,000 gives 800, then 720. That is 28% in total, not 30%.
Questions
Why is 20% plus 10% not 30% off?
The second discount applies to the already reduced price, so the combined discount is 28%.
Is tax included?
This uses whatever price you enter. If tax is added later, work it out on the discounted price using a tax calculator.
How do I work out the discount percentage from two prices?
Use the percentage calculator with the original and sale prices to see the change.
